Graduation Ceremony for Students of Sino-British Joint Undergraduate Programs Held for the Class of 2024

On the morning of June 18th, the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024, who participated in the undergraduate program in Finance jointly hosted by Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and Edinburgh Napier University, was held in the International Business School’s International Lecture Hall. Professor Wang Min, President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Vice President Yan Ming, Professor Andrea M. Nolan, Principal of Edinburgh Napier University, and Ms. Liao Jiaxin, Director of the China Development Department, attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Professor Wang Min extended warm congratulations on behalf of the university to the Sino-British graduates embarking on a new journey in life. He encouraged the graduates with the ideals of “patriotic sentiments, international perspective”, and the “spirit of YUFE”. Firstly, he hoped the students would enrich their sense of national identity, integrating personal growth with the development of the country, and contribute to the areas where the motherland needs them most. Secondly, he wished the students to possess a global outlook, develop strategic vision, and aim higher and see further. Thirdly, he hoped that every student would always practice the spirit of YUFE, Forever Advancing, First to Dare, and being trailblazers in the new era.

Professor Andrea M. Nolan congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies and embarking on a new chapter in life. She sincerely hoped that the graduates would maintain firm confidence and a proactive spirit, showcasing their professional skills and talents in various fields, and making long-term contributions to society and the industry.

Yan Ming and Andrea M. Nolan handed diplomas to each of the graduates. Andrea M. Nolan awarded the honorary medal to the outstanding student, Li Jingxian.

The graduate representative, Xiao Renhong, expressed gratitude for the valuable opportunities and platforms provided by Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and Edinburgh Napier University, which enabled everyone to acquire professional knowledge, broaden international perspectives, and enhance critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Officials from the International Business School, the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Student Affairs Office, the Admissions and Career Development Center, Chinese mentor representatives of the International Business School, all graduates, and some family and friends of the graduates attended the ceremony.
