Information School Achieves Excellent Results in 2024 Collegiate Computer Design Competition

From July to August 2024, the 17th Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition, also known as“4C”, was held at distinguished venues including Shandong University’s Weihai campus, Northeastern University, and Xiamen University of Technology. The Information School of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics showcased its prowess, securing multiple accolades for its students’ superior skills and innovative thinking.

The school’s participants distinguished themselves by winning two national second-place awards, three national third-place awards, two provincial second-place awards, and four provincial third-place awards, highlighting their strong professional knowledge and creative aptitude.

The 4C, which commenced its initial preparation in 2007 and celebrated its inaugural competition in 2008, has successfully completed 16 editions encompassing 80 events up to this year. It was originally initiated by the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Humanities and Social Sciences Computer Teaching Steering Committee and has continuously expanded to include a broader participation from universities and institutions such as the Engineering and Computer Teaching Steering Committees, alongside endorsements from China Education Television, the China Association of Higher Education, and the China Youth New Media Association.

Since 2019, the competition has been featured in the National College Student Competition Rankings, achieving the third rank in computer-related contests. With its growing influence, the number of participating institutions and entries has seen a steady increase from the initial 80 to 422 in 2024.

The competition not only enhances the practical and innovative capabilities of the participants but also contributes significantly to the cultivation of high-quality computer talents, in line with the evolving demands of the era. It promotes the development and innovation of computer education.
