To promote course innovation, fully implement ideological and political education, create a new engine for educational and teaching development, and continuously enhance the quality of undergraduate education assessment, the series of activities for the joint course development and teaching achievements exhibition between Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and the Central Academy of Fine Arts was held on June 3 at the Anning Campus Library of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
In her opening speech, Dean Yuan Hong of the School of Media and Design Arts stated that this joint course development and teaching achievements exhibition is an excellent attempt in course construction and professional development for the school, serving as the best example of support in scientific research and teaching. She highlighted the significant influence of the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ art courses in the field of art education and expressed hope that this event would establish a robust collaborative model between the two schools, facilitating deeper joint course development in the future.
Professor Yue Jieqiong from the Central Academy of Fine Arts remarked that the academy has been conducting art tours for five years, aiming to enhance students’ detailed artistic observation and critical thinking skills. She encouraged students to actively participate in course development, integrating the results of courses related to detailed sketching with the achievements of the “Basic Modeling” course from the School of Media and Design Arts at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, building a shared future.
Faculty and students from both schools visited the joint exhibition of teaching achievements from the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ “Detailed Sketching” course and the “Basic Modeling” course of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. Professor Su Haijiang from the Central Academy of Fine Arts provided onsite explanations for the five major thematic sections of the exhibition: “Home”, "Ordinary Life”, “Social Focus Topics”, “Attention to Social Groups”, and “Party Lessons and Ideological and Political Education”, discussing the creative concepts and completion processes. Associate Professor Shang Hang from the School of Media and Design Arts explained the process guidance and outcomes of the course ideological and political construction for “Red Objects” and “Yunnan Time-honored Brands”. The main lecturers shared their experiences in course development and interacted with the faculty and students present.
In the afternoon, the school held a teaching and academic exchange seminar. Professors Zhou Lan and two others from the Central Academy of Fine Arts delivered speeches, sharing insights on topics such as AI empowering art design education development, detailed sketching and course ideological and political construction, and the design of works serving major national development strategies and regional economic development. Faculty members from the school discussed with the experts topics like Yunnan intangible cultural heritage and the manifestation of ethnic minority cultural symbols.
On the morning of June 4, an academic lecture, part of the event series, was held in the School of Media and Design Arts lecture hall. Professor Su Haijiang, academic leader of the animation program and doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, delivered a themed lecture titled “Precision and Unity: Detailed Sketching Creation and Teaching”, sharing practical experiences in sketching creation and teaching.
This series of activities for the joint course development and teaching achievements exhibition marks a promising start for collaborative research and co-construction of courses between the two institutions. It also brings new momentum to enhancing the course development level of the School of Media and Design Arts, continuously strengthening the quality of undergraduate education and teaching. The event was jointly organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and hosted by the School of Urban Design and Collaborative Innovation Office of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the School of Media and Design Arts, Library, and Zhong Zhengshan Art Museum of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
