On June 6, the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Academic Management Committee for the Sino-Australian Partner Institutions, including Charles Sturt University (CSU) and its Chinese partner institutions, was held in the third-floor conference room of our International Business School. Attendees included Louise Bizo, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Justice, and Behavioural Sciences at CSU; Eleanor Mitchell, Director of Global Engagement; Chantal Tang, Project Director of the Global Engagement and Enterprise Office; Li Yan, Regional Manager for China; our Vice President Kuang Jinyun; Dean Zhang Honglie and Associate Dean Zhang Junjie of the International Business School; and relevant representatives from Tianjin University of Commerce, Jilin University of Finance and Economics, and Yangzhou University.
Kuang Jinyun extended a warm welcome to colleagues from all partner institutions. She emphasized that Sino-foreign cooperative education is an essential component of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics’ (YUFE) commitment to educational openness and internationalization. The Sino-Australian cooperation project, being one of the earliest projects approved by the Ministry of Education, carries significant responsibilities and missions. Over the years, through the joint efforts of CSU and YUFE, the project has yielded fruitful results. In the context of economic globalization and educational internationalization, YUFE remains committed to open education, continuously seeking opportunities to leverage its unique strengths, aligning its reform and development with national strategies and Chinese modernization, and serving the high-quality development of Yunnan. She expressed hope for deeper exchanges and cooperation with CSU and other partner institutions, particularly in student training, academic research, and faculty development, to further explore cooperation potential and expand communication channels.
Louise Bizo and Eleanor Mitchell provided detailed introductions to CSU’s development strategies. Representatives from each participating institution shared their experiences in cooperative education, conducting in-depth analyses and discussions on the sustainable development of collaborative projects. They also exchanged views on new situations and issues arising in the collaboration process.
The annual meeting fostered deeper understanding and friendship among the participants, allowing them to share valuable experiences in cooperative education. It also built consensus and gathered strength to embrace a broader development prospect for Sino-Australian cooperative education.
