Entrusted by the Commerce Department of Yunnan Province, School of Overseas Education at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics has successfully completed the establishment of the “Laos Digital Commerce Talent Training Base VR Teaching Center”. Since its inception in July 2022, the project has steadily progressed in the development of both the necessary hardware and software, culminating in the recent inauguration of the talent base at the National University of Laos, making it the first digital teaching and experimental base in Laos to utilize cutting-edge technology.

During the construction phase, the university collaborated closely with the National University of Laos to timely equip the facility with computers, VR equipment, and electronic displays, meeting the base’s needs for information technology, panoramic technology, and virtual simulation technology. The university actively advanced the development of platforms and software systems, producing two trilingual (Chinese, English, Lao) VR courses titled “Yunnan’s Achievements in Poverty Alleviation and Rural Revitalization” and “Development of New Energy Industries in Yunnan”. These courses effectively showcase Yunnan’s progress in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, and new energy sectors.

Additionally, tailored to the specific needs of local governments, enterprises, and financial institutions, the base implements training courses through distance education to enhance the local human resource capacity and foster social development in Laos.

The completion of this base marks a new achievement in the university’s exploration of a “government-school-enterprise” cooperation model. It serves as a new platform and vehicle for the university to fulfill its function in international exchange and cooperation, actively integrating into Yunnan Province’s diplomatic service mechanism surrounding regions, and narrating the story of “Chinese-style modernization” in the digital age.
