On August 21, the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the Guizhou Provincial Government, was held in Guiyang. President Wang Min was invited to lead a delegation to participate in events such as the “Global E-commerce Education Development Alliance Launch Ceremony and Cooperation Dialogue” and the “China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Cooperation Conference”. Vice President Yan Ming accompanied the delegation to related activities.
During the Sino-foreign Principals’ Roundtable Dialogue, Wang Min shared the achievements of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in three aspects: cultivating high-quality e-commerce talent, conducting high-level intelligent application research, and promoting high-quality development of cross-border digital commerce. He engaged in in-depth discussions with Chinese and foreign education experts on new trends and models in e-commerce education.
At the “China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Cooperation Conference”, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, as one of the 14 representative institutions, participated in the signing ceremony with its partner, Phetchabun Rajabhat University of Thailand.
During the event, Wang Min held talks with Preecha Sriruangrit, President of Phetchabun Rajabhat University, and signed a cooperation agreement for an overseas dual-degree undergraduate program in business administration. Wang Min stated that the university attaches great importance to the cooperation with Phetchabun Rajabhat University. He expressed appreciation for the substantial progress made since May and noted that the university is well-prepared in terms of curriculum research and planning, optimization of management services, and addressing potential challenges. The formal signing of this cooperation agreement is not only a milestone in sincere collaboration but also marks a new chapter in overseas education projects. It represents an innovative model for both parties to work together, complement each other’s strengths, and provide high-quality international educational resources for Thai students. Wang hoped to see the project implemented in Thailand as soon as possible.
Preecha Sriruangrit stated that through several in-depth and friendly discussions and exchanges, both parties have achieved positive results in undergraduate-level project cooperation. This not only demonstrates their shared vision and firm commitment to educational cooperation but also lays a solid foundation for further collaboration. He emphasized that they would further refine the cooperation plan and clarify details to ensure high-quality and efficient project implementation.
Heads of various departments and schools, including International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Business School, Information School, Research Center for Management and Public Service Informatization Engineering Technology, and Bangkok Business School, accompanied the delegation and participated in various activities.
